An Ivorian artisan candlemaker and creator, Dhassyv Kouao transforms wax into objects of art, light, and emotion.

A former human resources executive and professional development coach, she discovered artistic creation during a life-altering ordeal. In 2022, while battling breast cancer, the time forced upon her paradoxically became a space for freedom and rebirth. Between treatments, she sketched, explored ceramics, and discovered the world of wax.

After training as a candlemaker in the south of France, she returned to Abidjan and launched Margo, a brand named after her mother.

For Dhassyv, Margo is a story of legacy and light: the light received from her mother, the light rediscovered in the midst of hardship, and the light she now wishes to share through her creations.

And because light takes on its true meaning when shared, Margo is also a venture rooted in solidarity: a portion of the proceeds from her creations goes toward supporting people affected by cancer.
